Why Study Abroad?

The University of Leeds offers one of the widest ranges of opportunities for students to study abroad in the UK.

The Study Abroad programme is an exciting and challenging opportunity to gain experience of living and studying in another culture as part of your degree.

Choose from nearly 200 institutions – from Spain to Singapore – and gain confidence, broaden your horizons, and develop skills and experiences which can improve your future employability.

  • Nearly 900 Leeds students study abroad every year.
  • More than 400 of these are not on language degrees.

  • This website is for students interested in studying abroad at one of our partner universities. If you are interested in working in another country please visit the Careers Centre Work Experience page.
If you are a student in the School of Modern Languages you may find a lot of useful information on these pages but you should initially follow procedures in your department to study abroad as they may differ slightly from information on these pages which is predominantly for students who are not studying in a foreign language.
